4th July Fireworks

After a brief few weeks of scrambling the very popular 4th of July Fireworks over Shabbona Lake is back on. It had been temporarily suspended due to lack of funding and manpower issues.

The event is annually seen by over 4,000 people each 4th of July.

A group of local citizens met and formed a non for profit 501c corporation called "Shabbona Fireworks".

They have ordered the fireworks and hired an outside company to shoot them off. The group has also been busy raising funds, with an annual budget of $10,000.

A large portion of the revenue hopefully will be generated by requesting a $10. donation from every car entering the area to observe the wonderful display. We will also be walking around the camp ground requesting $10 from campers.

This is not mandatory, no one has to donate to observe the fireworks. It is merely the fairest and easiest way to raise funds.

Everyone who donates will receive a tax deductable receipt for the amount donated.

We are happy and proud to continue this 25 year tradition of fireworks shot over Shabbona Lake.
