Forget draining some little pond for some minnows, I think all of us guys should get our nets and do another rescue. It seems thats the only way some of us are going to get our nets slimmy, and we can have our picture taken with a muskie this year.
And we can all chip in a couple bucks and get someone, maybe Danner to take a picture so they all look 47 INCHES long.
And we can get JAB to carry them all over to the lake because as you can tell he cares more about how he holds a fish than a picture he pass around the office.
All comments welcome, but may not get read.
Reg,
Stir that nest!!!:D
Think there are any 'ski's down there with the lack of rain we've had?

Are the muskies escaping? Is there a need for another rescue, if so, then I'm sure that some of my fellow hawg hunters would be willing to pitch in.

 Escaping? Escaped is the word your looking for. There is so many muskies in that stream its sad. Where do you think all those pictures in mid-west outdoors and the Fox River muskie hunters come from. They get in their boats and go down to the mouth of the creek and walk up and fish huge jerk baits, ( we salmon fishermen call it snagging). Thank God someone removed that stupid muskie proof fence below the dam ,Do you know how far of a walk that used to be?

It's funny this topic has come up again. I was going to comment on a trip down the Fox I had last weekend.
My wife and I paddled a twelve mile stretch of the Fox on Sunday (what a surprisingly beautiful length of river!!). The take out was right where Indian Creek "empties" into the Fox. I use quotes around empties because the creek was so low it wasn't even moving.
However, right after we put in 12 miles up river we came across a fisherman wading into the sweetest looking fishing spot on our trip (a creek dumping in lots of water, with a nice deep pool right under it). He was smallie fishing with a small spinner. He said that not 5 minutes before we passed, he had a 40+ inch musky on and lost it.
It dissapointed me to know that one of Shabbona's finest was now scraping together a living in a mucky, extremely shallow, slow moving carp river.
On a much brighter note, I saw the spillway right after the drizzle yesterday. The water level was about 6 inches BELOW the spillway cement barrier. No fish are going over the spillway right now, and I doubt any have in the recent/not so recent past, regardless of the state of the barrier net.
