9/7 report

My wife and I fished from about 12:30 until 7Pm using a rental rowboat and a trolling motor. We caught a number of perch and several Bluegills. We started off near a nice pocket we know of along a lone tree stump cross from Somonauk point near the shore of the campground (Very productive for Walleye earlier in the year).

We did not catch any catfish this trip but did see two separate people catch and land muskies. Both were by the stumps where the no motor sign is attached. The first looked to be about 24-28” and was taken on artificial bait of unknown type. The second of the two had to have been near 40” and the person that caught it seemed to know what he was doing as he landed it quickly (Lots of splashing) took a picture, and had the fish in the water in minutes and appeared to take of in a very healthy manner. Very nice catch and nice to see up close. Looked like he was using an orange buck tail to catch that fish.

Did notice the water temperature seemed to be cooling off from the previous week nicely.
Was hoping to catch a Walleye with all the perch running around but not a sign of a walleye.
