Got out to chase the toothy critters. Not much happened.

The lake looks like pea soup and it was a bit on the muggy side, imagine that for the month of August!:)

Anyway, put to use a lot of the info everyone's been kind enough to supply and didn't get a visible follow let alone a fish. That's ok though, I learned something about the lake that'll I'll put to use next time.

After fishing a lot of edges I decided to slowly troll my deep diver to the ramp. About 2 minutes after starting that the lake ate the bait and that was that. Shab: 2 lures Tim: 0 musky. My day is coming, I know I'm close.

As I was getting off the lake I had to gentley remind a guy that 40HP's are just a tad over the HP limit. Strange thing was he was using his 40HP to idle around with and had a 9.9 sitting right there next to it!!! From his reaction I think he knew he was wrong. He killed the 40 and dropped the 9.9 in. I said thanks and loaded the boat.

Not to many folks on the lake, lot's of bass hitting the surface with the dark clouds still hanging out.

Surface water temp was about 75 all over the lake. Clarity was 1 1/2' to 2' in the good spots.

Tim,

If you fish Shabby a lot or any other flooded resouviours (sp?) like Shelbyville, Kincaid. You may want to invest $30 on a frabill lure retirever, the one I have is 18 ft long telescopic aluminum, with a thick wire loop at the end.

You will get all of your lures back and it pays for itself the first day typically. The only issue is it twists your leaders pretty good, I have started fishing with Terminator titanium leaders which do not kink!

Thanks for the report

Rob

Or you can purchase a telescopic extending pole and a paint roller to attach it.

There is a little secret. Have fun ;)
