First time camping at Shabbona. We got a nice site with a view of the lake. Was dissapointed with the small restrooms around the campground. They were very smelly with spider webs all over. The showers were ok. The best thing about them was that you didn't have to keep pushing a button to keep the water running. There was no bench inside to place your clothes or towels on. Just hooks on the walls. On the last day I took my little cassette toilet to the dump station to clean out. At one of the stations there was toilet paper and feces on the ground. I told a camp host thinking that it might get cleaned up. About 1 1/2 hours later as we were leaving I had to dump my sink drain water. The TP and Turds were still there. That is very disgusting.
Overall the park has decent sized lots and OK showers. Woke up Sunday morning and went to a church service that was being held by a local church. Got to witness two baptisms. Was a very beautiful day. Fishing was crappy on Saturday. But there was a thunderstorm that went through on Friday night. At least the skies cleared so I could try and catch some fish.
